Snow Leopard = Slow Internet. ...

I just installed Snow Leopard today on my mid 2009 Unibody Macbook Pro and now my internet connection is slow. I have searched through the forums and tried a lot of fixes that were suggested: added open DNS servers, reset my airport extreme, reset safari, upgraded to 10.6.1., restarted the macbook. Now I am at a loss. The internet worked fine from the southern california time time warner set up the connection until I installed snow leopard. I update to snow leopard, safari is now slower, so I conclude that snow leopard is the culprit. What more can I do? Will the genius bar help? How can I get back to 10.5.8?
