Safari gets jammed quickly ...

I have a iMac G4 (Flat Panel) with Mac OS x (10.4.11). I have 148GB hard drive with 109GB available. I am noticing that Safari tends to slow up. Just outright jams when trying to go into another page. The "http:/" will be shaded light blue, but the rest just sits there. I then have to quit Safari, then "Force Quit" and restart.

Why is this happening? Very sluggish...
